About After The Rayne
Hi, and welcome to After The Rayne Handmade Soaps & Bath Products .

We have been handmaking soaps out of our kitchen since 1998. Since that time, we moved into our "soap shack" in which we could focus more on the business and have a bigger facility to make our products!

I'm often asked "How did you get started making soaps?"

My answer usually starts with, "Well, my husband said I could stay home when we found out we were pregnant!"   Being that I was able to stay home with my daughter, for whom my company is named after, I was also able to do a lot of research on why commercial soaps bothered my skin leaving it dry, itchy and flaky.  Lo and behold, after reading about all the chemicals I was putting on my body from commercial soaps, I knew I could do something about that! I then began my research into making soaps for myself.

After a LOT of  reading and many trial and error attempts, I found I really enjoyed making soaps from scratch!  From there I learned how to make lotions, then creams and of course, that branched out into what you see today!

My hobby soon turned into a passion and that passion grew when family and friends started purchasing my products for themselves!  In January of 2001, I decided that I wanted to turn my fun addiction into a business and make this into something that I could pass on to my children and generations to come.

I now use several different methods in preparing my soaps.  Although I still make some of my soaps using the Cold Process method (pouring soap directly into their molds and allowing the soap to cure (water evaporation), I also make them using the Hot Process method (forcing the gel stage by "cooking" the soap in an oven reducing cure time since the water is cooked out!).  Also, to be a bit more "green", during the summer, I help out the environment by solar processing my soaps!
Yes, I use the sun as my oven to help me make my soaps! It's energy efficient and my soaps come out as lovely as ever!

I have also perfected my recipe in my soaps by using only the highest quality ingredients including: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil,  Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Mango Butter, Fair Trade Shea Butter, Palm Kernel Oil, Natural Cocoa Butter, Sweet Almond Oil and Apricot Oil.  In some of my Essential Oil soaps, I've added extra luxury oils such as Kukui Nut, Camellia Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Evening Primrose and many other types of oils and butters  that make a great bar that lathers well and has been known to leave your skin soft and silky I've also added several organic oils into many of my soap recipes as well as Certified organic, organic, ethically harvested and wildcrafted essential oils too. Many of my oils I get from the farmers and distillers themselves and work closely with them.

As with the same care and perfection I take in making my soaps, the same goes with the rest of my luxurious products! Each of my unique items are made from scratch with original recipes. I gave a lot of thought as to what each ingredient had to offer and made sure that only the best would be used and keeping my lotions and creams paraben and formaldehyde free.  Many guinea, er, friends and family were "tested" before any of my toiletries appeared in public!  I'm sure once you have looked around you'll be just as excited to try them yourself!  Visit our
